Silent Apostle
|
WHAT'S HE LIKE?
Sy is a runner, no doubt about it. He lives to gallop, and can be a bit headstrong when under saddle. He is not content walking calmly when there is a person on his back, and can be hard to handle when it comes to keeping him at a reasonable pace. Even around the farm, he is a bundle of energy, always on his toes and taking in his surroundings. He's quite the attention hog, and loves when people come to smother him in affection (which is what humans are there for, in his opinion).
WELL...HE IS A RACEHORSE
Running Style: Stalker - Running and racing are two very distinct concepts to him, as once other horses are added to the equation, his headstrong, run-as-fast-as-possible attitude changes to a much more composed athlete. He is very comfortable confronting and passing other horses, though can be slightly reluctant when moving between horses. He runs best from an outside stalking position, where he can relax and assess the field before making a move. He has trouble managing multiple targets at once, and therefore it's important for him to feel like he has one goal at a time. In cases where his only choice is to split horses, he will often get caught up between them while attempting to determine on which rival his focus should be, before managing to move ahead of them. This is not as important in cases where he is vastly superior to his opponents, but when faced with horses that have ability like his, he is likely to spend a few precious seconds right alongside them while he figures out his situation. Due to this, it's best if his rider avoids moving between horses when possible, and in the worst case scenario, actively works to keep his attention forward (much easier if there is another horse ahead). This is also part of why a stalking position is ideal - he is less likely to have to manage multiple rivals at once. When he is able to process one horse at a time, he is incredibly game and more than willing to pass and move on to the next opponent.
